Music In Motion Vol.1: Deadline Tunes

Ah, advert music: hand claps, soft ukelele, building drums, piano major-chords and someone shouting "hey". Now that's real music. Right?

Any video-creator will tell you there's only so many times you can listen to a project's soundtrack. Whether you're editing a music video, a short film or a hand soap ad, the 500th playback can make even the best backing music slightly intolerable.

So your favourite video company (that's us) has put some playlists together to help you cross the creative finish line. Our first playlist is by our 3D artist and motion designer, Jordan, titled Deadline Music.

“We all have to work around deadlines (even with personal projects), otherwise, it doesn't get done, or we are constantly tweaking (leaving it in proverbial project purgatory). So, during crunch-time, I listen to various genres and moods, tailored to push me across the finish line.

My playlist is how I perceive the whole creative process from the crunch to finish. Starting with the energetic complexity of Woodkid's - Volcano, then the punk strides of Carti's - R.I.P. Eventually, winding down with the likes of Frank Ocean. I concluded my deadline curation with James Blake's appropriately titled Lullaby for my insomniac.”
